H2O ceiling light is designed by Barba Corsini and Created by Joaquim Ruiz Millet since 1955. The luminaire's design was inspired by Barba Corsini's famous PD2 floor luminaire, designed for the interior of Gaudi's La Pedrera, one of the world's most outstanding buildings in Barcelona. The original design of the luminaire in perforated metal emits warm light, creating a cozy atmosphere in any interior.
In 1955, architect Barba Corsini was appointed to rebuild the attics of the Antoni Gaudi building in La Pedrera. The designer converted the attic, which was previously used as a laundry and storage room, into thirteen modern apartments. For a perfect architectural experience, Corsini's apartments were designed with their own designs, which were inspired by the exterior of the same building.
In 1991, it was decided to restore the attic of La Pedrera in accordance with Gaudi's original concept. The interior designed by Corsin was demolished and most of it was thrown away. During the renovation, the architect Joaquim Ruiz discovered a floor lamp created by Millet Corsin, which he saved from the last minute by throwing it in the trash. Millet and Corsini then began collaborating and redesigning the latter's works, saving his original work and making it known and accessible to the public. Among other things, the ceiling luminaires provided from the rescued floor lamp were completed in the form of H2O in various finishes.
