Wall lamp BL5, different leg and dome finishes
A sample product of the series in a representative store! (Wall lamp BL7, gray / brass)
The Bestlite BL5 wall luminaire is the work of the British designer Robert Dudley Best, influenced by the aesthetics of the Bauhaus, since 1930. The charm of the luminaire with its clean yet elegant look lies in its simplicity, influenced by this period.
The wall luminaire with different finishes and colors, horizontally as well as vertically adjustable leg and movable dome makes it ideal for rooms of different styles where directional light is required. Place lighting fixtures in your home office, workspace, creative corner, bedroom next to the bed, or in the kitchen, for example.
Due to its functionality, the lamp design was first used in garages and in the British Royal Air Force's engineering department. The breakthrough in the design world took place thanks to the famous "Architects Journal", where the title of Bestlite luminaire was awarded the title of the first British proof of the Bauhaus, after which there was a great demand for luminaires. The Bestlite BL1 luminaire was also chosen by politician Winston Churchill personally on his desk, after which the luminaire became a cult object.
The authentic design with a long history remains close to its roots even today and corresponds to its original design. The design gem loved by architects and designers is on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London as well as the Design Museum.
The Bestlite BL collection also includes a number of different modern table, floor and wall luminaires in different finishes.
